How to play Puzzle Pairs

• The 5×5 grid hides 12 matching pairs of icons, plus 1 unpaired icon.
• You start with 1 scanner shape. More shapes are earned as you play.
• On your turn you can either:
  • Click two tiles to make a guess, or
  • Place a scanner on the grid to reveal tiles under its pattern for a short time.
• If your guess is a matching pair, those tiles disappear and any tiles above (or in the gravity direction) fall into the gaps.
• If your guess is wrong, your miss counter increases. Every 3 incorrect guesses normally earns you a new scanner (up to 6 maximum), unless a rulebreaker changes this.
• After every 3 successful matches, the grid rotates 90 degrees and tiles fall again, unless a rulebreaker changes this.
• The aim is to find all 12 pairs in as few guesses as possible.
